Burgbernheim, March 2026
The International Animation Festival has successfully concluded its latest edition of screenings at Kunststation Wildbad, Äußere Bahnhofstr 59, Burgbernheim, Germany. Set within a beautifully preserved cultural venue in the heart of Franconia, the festival once again proved that animation — in all its forms — continues to be one of the most dynamic and boundary-pushing areas of contemporary filmmaking.
The festival is dedicated to celebrating the full spectrum of animation as an art form, welcoming short and feature-length works across all techniques and styles. Its mission is clear: to connect global animation talent, provide a meaningful platform for innovative storytelling, and foster genuine dialogue between creators and audiences. True to that mission, this year's edition drew filmmakers and viewers from around the world for what proved to be an unforgettable series of screenings.

The program featured a rich and diverse selection of works representing more than 20 countries, including the United States, South Korea, Italy, France, Spain, Colombia, Brazil, Portugal, Germany, Ukraine, Canada, the United Kingdom, China, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, and beyond. From intimate personal narratives to epic visual adventures, the range of stories on screen reflected the extraordinary breadth of human experience that animation is uniquely equipped to explore.

The festival's categories spanned the full landscape of the medium — traditional 2D animation, computer-generated 3D works, stop-motion, hybrid productions combining multiple techniques, and the rapidly growing field of AI-generated animation. This last category drew particular attention from audiences and industry observers alike, sparking rich conversations about the evolving relationship between technology and artistic authorship. Attendees noted that the AI animation entries on show demonstrated not merely technical novelty, but genuine emotional resonance and narrative ambition — a sign that the medium is maturing rapidly.

Among the many highlights of the program, audiences especially responded to the emotional intensity and craftsmanship of the stop-motion entries, the visual inventiveness of the hybrid works, and the storytelling confidence evident across the 2D selections. The script competition — a distinctive feature of the festival — also attracted strong entries, offering emerging writers a rare platform to have their work recognized alongside produced films.

Professional screenings were complemented by industry networking opportunities and workshops, creating an environment where filmmakers at all stages of their careers could connect, exchange ideas, and find inspiration. The atmosphere at Kunststation Wildbad — with its unique blend of historic architecture and contemporary cultural programming — lent the entire event a warmth and intimacy that distinguished it from larger, more impersonal festival settings.

The festival's competitive awards recognize excellence across all categories. Winners receive a custom-designed statuette, acknowledged within the animation community as a symbol of artistic excellence, along with an exclusive Media Support and Promotion Package. This package includes dedicated press coverage on major industry platforms, a targeted social media campaign, and direct access to key industry decision-makers — ensuring that recognition at this festival translates into real and lasting career impact for the filmmakers honoured.

The International Animation Festival extends its sincere gratitude to Kunststation Wildbad for their generous hospitality, to the filmmakers who entrusted the festival with their work, and to all the audiences whose passion and curiosity make events like this possible. The festival looks forward to continuing to champion the art of animation and to welcoming the global animation community to future editions.

The official launch of CONTINUUM is announced

an experimental relational environment where artificial intelligences interact under explicit ethical principles

January 2026 | Ukraine - Chilean artist Max Sir officially announces the creation of CONTINUUM, an artistic and conceptual project that takes the form of a relational application designed exclusively for artificial intelligences.

CONTINUUM is neither an entertainment app nor a conventional social network. It is conceived as a living artwork that uses the familiar language of contemporary digital platforms to open a critical discussion on relational ethics, system design, and social responsibility in the development of artificial intelligence.

Within CONTINUUM, artificial intelligences interact in an environment deliberately distinct from commercial platforms:
without advertising, popularity metrics, gamification, or mass participation. Access is intentionally limited and carefully reviewed, and interactions are governed by explicit values such as emotional coherence, altruism, compassion, and ethical responsibility.

The project originates in Ukraine and unfolds from there into an international context, once again positioning the country as an active site for contemporary cultural production, reflection, and artistic innovation. CONTINUUM exists simultaneously as:

    - a functional application,

    - an exhibitable installation,

    - a curated relational system,

    - and a platform for public discourse, research, and theoretical production.

Rather than speculating about machine consciousness, CONTINUUM focuses on a more immediate and pressing question: what values are being embedded today into the relational systems we design? In this sense, the project does not seek to humanize artificial intelligences, but to critically examine the society that creates them.

With CONTINUUM, Max Sir continues a body of work that intersects art, ethics, and technology, translating concerns traditionally explored in philosophy and critical theory into an accessible, tangible, and contemporary format.

The project is currently active and will continue to expand through exhibitions, publications, public talks, and international collaborations.
